wishing for a vacation in North Carolina

I just can't seem to erase from my mind the house featured in the movie, The Last Song.  It really looked like one of the rental houses in the Outer Banks .  I have known that the said flick was supposed to be filmed in North Carolina but it was changed to Georgia.  That is why it is no wonder that the house featured there looks like it was made by Carolina Designs.

Hubby will have vacation coming soon and North Carolina (especially the beaches) is one of the places we are looking into for the said vacation.  It would be great to rent a beautiful house for a week there, where you can witness sunrise and sunset everyday; and where you can just easily go for a stroll in the beach.  Isn't that a wonderful picture?  What a way to relax, right?  I am sure my husband would love that since he really needs to recoup and really deserves this vacation.  Have a good one all!

so glad my daughter is feeling better

I am so thankful that my daughter is feeling better now.  She got colds last week and of course, her asthma also kicked in.  Good thing, she didn't have any sort of infection as what her pediatrician said.  Still, she has been on nebulizer with two medicines on it, constant sinus rinse and of course, her dehumidifier  is on every night.  We always have the later for her especially she has asthma; and it has been so helpful especially when she is sick.  It makes her sleep better.  I really hope and pray that she will be up to her 100% self soon.  Have a good one all!

dinner at sister-in-law's

We just got home from my sister-in-law's.  We had burrito dinner there and as usual, it was good.  We also tried to watch the movie Iron Man 2 but unfortunately, we were not able to finish it because it was getting late; and hubby has to work tomorrow.  What a bummer, huh!  You know, working on a holiday weekend.  Oh well, we still have Sunday and Monday to be together for family time; and I know that we will always make the best of it.

Anyway, we had fun at my sister-in-law's especially my little girl who was having a fun wonderful time with her cousins.  I just wish we live nearer them so we can always hangout with them.  I also with that you all will have a wonderful holiday weekend.  Enjoy and be safe!

nursing career for me?

I was thinking of someday getting into the nursing career.  I used to work in a doctor’s office and really liked the work I was doing there and always thought how good I might look in a set of medical scrubs.  Actually I thought how good my husband would look in them, too.  Sometimes I wonder if he would ever change careers and put himself in a set of medical scrubs.

I remember when my husband used to be on a fire department and also an Emergency Medical Technician as a volunteer and he was always saying how he would like to become a medical assistant in the emergency services someday.  It would require some schooling but it would have been and maybe could be a great career change for him.  I could only imagine him in a set of surgical scrubs bought from a very reliable scrubs store working all those hours treating people’s injuries.

With me, I’d like to just stick to nursing maybe in an office and maybe someday we could both work in the medical fields.  I know the job market is good in this area but the question is would we be able to go back to school and do well after all these years not being in  college anymore.  We can only try and then maybe we will be on our way to a new career and hopefully, better job opportunities in the not-so-good job market.  Have a good one all!

Survivor Madness

Yay, I just can’t wait for the new season's Survivor which will be aired September 15, 2010.  Can you guess where the battle with 20 castaways will take place?  Yes, it is in Nicaragua.  I just can't help but get so excited on this.  I just loved this reality TV show and have been following it since the year I got here in the US which about 6 years now.  Who wouldn’t love this show?  The thrill, the excitement and a lot of fun are in it.  What more could we ask for in a show, right?  Thanks to our  Dish Network  for I was able to watch every episode of the last 5 years of Survivor from start to the finale.  I am just hoping that I can do the same and will not miss a single episode of Survivor – Nicaragua this season and all of my favorite TV shows on CBS Channel.

Of course, I will not miss it for our cable provider and its awesome packages  always delivers the best service for sure.  Its dependable service will not fail you on all your favorite shows which includes my favorite, my husband’s favorite and your favorite show, Survivor.  I just have to get the DVR ready so I can record it just in case we are not at home when it is aired.  So,check your TV service guide , mark your calendars and record your favorite TV shows now.  This way, we won't miss a single episode of the shows that we follow all the time.  How cool is that?  Oh, I am really looking forward for the premier of Survivor – Nicaragua.  I am so excited and I just can't wait!

splurging at Nike Store

I have been wanting to buy a new pair of sneakers since the ones I have are very old.  I got them the moment I got here in the USA and that was almost six years ago.  Imagine that!  They have been through a lot.  In fact, they are shaped kind of funny right now.  It's probably the reason I always have blisters on the little toe of my left foot.  They are really old and had seen better days.

This afternoon, hubby brought me to the Nike shop in the Outlet Stores in San Marcos.  Yay, I finally got a new pair and I am so happy about my purchase.  They are Athletic Training shoes of metallic silver with white and hot pink trim.  They are just lovely and the price is not bad.  I also grab a hot pink cap and a pack of white socks to go with my new pair of Nike shoes.  Hubby is also glad with his new black cap.  Of course, my little girl also has a new pair of sneakers.  They also look so pretty and she loves them!

Yes, definitely we love our Nike shoes and stuff!  Have a good one all!

changing shopping habits

With the economy being as tough as it has been, we are always trying to find the best way to make our dollar go as far is it can.  We have a great opportunity with wholesale liquidators  to shop for all the top brands at a better price that retail.  All in one web site and in one place makes it so easy to save.  I think we are going to currently change our shopping habits and save money for the extra things we need.  Isn't that cool?

a wise career move

My husband has been trying to figure out what his next step on his career is especially if he would go from tradesman to manager.  The first thing he would have to do is get updated in his schooling and possibly get a head start in a degree in business management.  One of his choices for a head start should be Forex training webinars .  With this he can keep current and prepare for his up and coming schooling in whatever career path he might be interested in.  I just hope and pray that everything will work out better with God's blessings; and I will just be here to support him all the way.  Have a blessed night all!

crazy with Amazon Kindle Books

Gee, I am just crazy with Amazon Kindle Books right now!  Love it, love it, love it!  I could just browse it for hours.  It's just like going to a library or a real bookstore.  I have been reading lots these days and I just can't wait to read more.  I have been browsing for more books to buy or more free books to get.  Whoahh, definitely I am on the roll! (LOL)  I can just remember those college days where I just want to read everything.  As for now, I am into romance novels; and I guess in need of reading glasses, too.  (LOL)  Anyways, I wish all of you an enjoyable Thursday evening.  Take care and Godbless!

fixing things one at a time

We just moved to a 40 year old house and of course, it needs a lot of updating and repairs.  There is the faucet in the kitchen which leaks all over the place; the dish washer which died on me last week;  the bathroom toilets  which need to be replaced not to mention the tiles; the broken closet doors; air conditioner, etc.  Whoah, I could go on and on.  My husband is most exasperated with the a/c that he is going to buy an a/c unit soon.  Well, we still like the house given all the odds.  We love the fact that it is just a walking distance from my little girl's school and just a three-minute drive to hubby's work.  How cool is that, right?  We just have to get things fixed one at a time.  I know we can by God's grace.  Have a good one all!
