hubby's off to watch a race with his buddies

Hey there, guys! How is your weekend so far? I hope it's going great. For us here, it's okay. Hubby had to work today for it is his scheduled Saturday to work. Poor hubby! He has really been working very hard these past few months. I really wish we could afford to have a week vacation because my hubby needs to have one. He needs to slow down and recoup.

During our dinner tonight, he mentioned that some of his work mates will go to a race. I looked at his face and I can tell that he wants to go, too. So I asked him, why don't you go with them? He looked at me kinda surprise, hehehe. He knows that sometimes I don't like the idea of him going out without us especially that me and my little girl are stuck at home on weekdays. And, I also know that he doesn't like the idea either. Well, I just don't feel like going out tonight and I know that the race track would be too loud for Kate. I know that he feels guilty leaving us tonight that he even told me that tomorrow we can go shopping, LOL. He is funny. I assured him that it's fine with me if he will go out tonight with his work buddies.

I know that he needs "man time" for himself and to be with his buddies sometimes. Though it is really hard for me him going out without me and my girl for the same reason I mentioned above. I know he doesn't mind to be with his girls (me and Kate) during his non-working days but I know that he also misses to go out with his buddies. I know how outgoing my husband is. He used to do lots of fun sports with his buddies especially when we were still in Colorado. He loves snowmobiling, water skiing, jeeping, dune buggying, mud bog, etc. with his friends. All of these fun stuffs came to a halt somehow when we came to his life and especially now that we moved here in San Antonio. Though he would say that he loves his adventure with his girls, I just can tell that he misses these fun sports, too.

Well, I hope that he can find good people to hang out here in San Antonio so he can do some fun stuff with them. Sometimes. I hope that he will have great time and a lot of FUN with his friends tonight. Have a good one all!

dinner at China Harbor

The loves of my life on our dinner tonight at China Harbor Buffet along Highway 281 here in San Antonio. This is our favorite Chinese food place and we have been frequenting this place since we found it. We like this place. In fact, it was my little girl who suggested that we would eat here tonight. She loves her rice and soup; and of course, her fruits as you can see in the picture. If you would let her, the fruits are what she will eat all the time. I know that it's healthy but she really needs fat in her little body.

Anyways, we had a great time tonight at the buffet place. As usual, the place is packed. One most important thing that I like about this place is even if it oozing with lots of people, it is always tidy and clean. And the food? YUMMY-O! Have a good one all!

my bald hubby

I always tease my hubby about his being bald. He has been bald since he was nineteen years old, he said. I always tell him that if only he has hair, he would really look like a teenager, hahaha. Every time I see an ad on TV about hair loss treatments, I would always say: "Hey Baby, that product is right on the dot for you!" He will just laugh at me. Well, he knows that I am just kidding. I really don't mind him being bald. As long as he is most comfortable and is happy with his baldness, so am I! Have a good one all!

My Bug on her Well Check

That's my Kate on her 4 year old Well Check last Thursday. She was so excited to see Dr. Chris again only to find out that they gave her lots of shots this time. She screamed so loud when the nurse gave her 5 shots (this includes the H1N1 Vaccine) on her legs. Hubby and I were like: "Come on, make it quick!" My girl wondered, how come they gave me lots of ouchy this time? We told her that she needs to have those shots so she won't get sick.

She was black and blue on the legs right now but at least they are not sore anymore. She had a hard time walking after her shots and she always cried because her knees hurt as what she said. I gave her Tylenol that night and she slept so good. Today, she is back to being a normal active and playful toddler. We are so glad and so thankful that she got better from her colds quicker this time. Way to go, Katiebug!

longer nap time for my girl, please...

In a bit, I will put down my little girl to bed for her nap time. I have been kind of disappointed with her nap since it is getting shorter lately. Usually she will be able to nap for 3 to 4 hours in the afternoon. But lately, it's only for about 2 hours which is not good especially that she is usually up by 7:00 in the morning. I am thinking of checking out natural sleep aids here in the net to help me get my little girl to nap longer. She really needs lots of sleep especially now she has colds. Okay, have to go now. Nap time for the bug. I hope she will have a good one.

I have been bothered for days now. It is regarding my very best friend since college days. I always greet her on Facebook and everything but no reply. I know that she has been online lately since her wall is active. I am kinda hurt and truly troubled. You think, I am just over reacting? Just the same, I always hope and pray that she is always in the best of everything. I know her situation is not easy, working overseas and being away from her family. That is why I admire her for that courage since she has been overseas for three years now.

To you my dear, please know that you are always here in my heart and my mind; and in my prayers, too. I do hope we could chat one of these days. Do I need joint supplements?

I went to bed so early last night because I had a headache and I was also so tired from yesterday's events. I had a good sleep only to wake up with my right arm from the elbow joint down to my fingers so painful and a little bit numb. Hubby told me that I slept on my right arm that is probably the reason why the pain. Or maybe, I just need joint supplements. Well, considering that I have all these joint pains especially after my exercise, I believe it is better for me to take some supplements. Hmmm, I just need to find the best supplement there is in the market today. Any suggestion, guys?

Princess video game

My little girl is screaming from playing her Princess video game. She is so funny. She is so happy when her Daddy told her that she can play with it tonight. This is actually her first time to play said game and she is already good at it, not to mention that she is having fun from all the shrieks she made.

I just told her that she can have two more games and that's it for tonight. We still have to do her breathing treatment and some of her medicines before beddy time. She didn't complain since I told her that she can play with it again tomorrow. That if she will be a nice girl, hehehe. Kids you know! We really are into the giving her treats stage if she will be nice since the time out corner is not that effective at her age right now. She is so active these days and has a mind of her own now.

Gee, just wait when she will be in school and can pick up some attitudes from other kids. My oh my! Oh well, we just have to do what needs to be done when it comes to her in the future. But for now, it's medicine time so I can put her to bed for the night. I really hope and pray that she will feel better tomorrow. Good night all!

I chatted my cousin who just gave birth to a baby girl about two weeks ago. Baby Sophie is really doing well and very healthy. The prenatal vitamins that my cousin took while she was pregnant has really done a great job for both mother and daughter. The baby is into eating frenzy these days. In fact my cousin has to do mixed feeding right now since her milk can't keep up with the baby's appetite. That is really amazing, right? I am truly happy for them and I just can't wait for them to visit us here so I can hold our adorable and gorgeous Baby Sophie. Oh, I just can't wait.

hot wings for dinner

We didn't go out for our usual Friday night out dinner. We had been eating out quite a few times this week so we figure it is best to just have dinner here at home especially that my girl is also not up to par. She has colds right now but she is actually feeling better. Good thing hubby brought our favorite hot wings for our dinner tonight. He also got my little girl her favorite cheese burger and fries. YAY! How cool hubby is, right? He always see to it that everything goes well with his girls here at home. Hubbypie, you're the man!

Uncle Sam's time

Hey guys, are you done with your taxes yet? Hmmm, not us! My husband has been at it for days now in the computer, just like checking for a cheap and a reliable insurance online which took him a number of days, too. Usually, he will let a company do the taxes for him every year. I don't know why he is doing it all by himself this time. But I bet he will give in and pay a company to do it for us. Our situation is really complicated since we moved from one state to another and we have rental properties in another state. So, I don't know how my husband deals with the tax issues all by himself. We will see how everything goes. Hopefully we can all sort it out before April 15 or Uncle Sam will get us for sure. Have a good one all!

happy to pass my citizenship test

I am still assimilating the fact that I am now an American citizen. Yeehaw! Yes, ladies and gentlemen I passed the citizenship test yesterday and up to this moment, it hasn't sunk in yet. Not just yet. I am so happy that I passed the said test. I was so anxious for the whole thing and I can say that I did study pretty good. But even with that, I can't help but got nervous during the interview. I am just so thankful to God that He gave me an Immigration Officer who is kind and not as strict and snooty as the others. It really made the whole process easier.

I was really expecting that the interview will take 30 minutes, but for me it just took about 5 minutes. I was like: "Was that all?" Good Lord! All the preparation for how many days and just 5 minutes? LOL But I am truly happy and relieved that that thing is over and done with. For now, I will just have to wait for the notice for Oath Taking so I can apply for a US Passport. And after that, ON to the next plan. Hopefully, the Good Lord will always bless me and my family (as He had always been) in every endeavor we are going to undertake. Thank you, Lord for always being there for us. Have a good one all!

wishing for our own home here in San Antonio

My husband and I have been considering the idea of acquiring our own home here in San Antonio. As you know that we are just renting a home when we moved here last year from Colorado. Our house in Colorado is rented right now and that is really a huge help to us financially. Somebody from my hubby's work suggested the stated idea to him, so now we are really giving it a thought.

I really don't know how it would work out for us being a home owner and at the same time a renter; but I am really hoping and praying that we can get our own house here in San Antonio. I can't help but get envious with my sister-in-law who has a house and a motor home located outside San Antonio. Well not that I am into motorhomes, I just wish for our own house here in San Antonio. And with God's blessings, it will happen. Soon.

just studying for my Citizenship Test

That's what I really have to do since my Citizenship Test will be this Thursday. Good thing that we had US History when I was still in High School in the Philippines which makes this whole thing easier for me. I feel like I am just reviewing my lessons. Still, I need to get on it. I can never fail especially that the application fee is so expensive. I have talked to some relatives who just had become US Citizens and they said that the test is super easy as long as you study. That's why I am into IT right now. I really can't help but get so anxious. I just wish that this thing be over and done with; and that I can pass it with flying colors. It will happen... By God's grace.

tv time before bed

We just got back from dining out at China Harbor and from browsing Barnes and Nobles. Geez, we went to Target to get a couple of things and we just can't believe how packed that place is tonight. The lines to the cash register was so long that we went back to our car and proceeded to Barnes and Nobles instead.

Now we are watching TV for down time before heading to bed. We are watching a TV show called Intervention on A&E Channel. It shows how people confront their addictions with treatment and the help of their friends and families through drug rehab and alcohol intervention. I really find this show very interesting and educational. Well of course, I always love my shows on HGTV. In fact, my favorite House Hunters will be on in a minute and I always watch it before hitting the bed. Anyways, I wish you all a good night sleep. Hope your weekend is as great as ours.

any plans for the Valentine weekend?

Hey guys! Any plans for Valentines tomorrow? I am really not sure if hubby and I will go out tomorrow. We know that restaurants will be the busiest place tomorrow, so most probably we will just eat here at home. If it's for me, I will be okay to just be here at home on this special day. We always eat out anyway.

Later today, hubby and I will go to the mall and just browse. Hopefully I can find something special but inexpensive Valentine gift for hubby. I really don't have a clue what to get him but we will see how it goes. Sheesh, how come it is always confusing to get things for men? Good thing hubby likes simple things, so I am pretty sure I can find something for him in the mall.

an inspiring weight loss story

I was looking for an inspirational weight loss story to help me along the way with my goal of weight loss. I seem to have gotten to my certain weight and am having a hard time reaching on to my final weight loss goal. I looked and found out that the last little bit is the hardest to lose and I don’t want to get discouraged. My sister-in-law has had a long road in her weight loss but she manages to lose over 60 lbs with faith and determination. I really look up to her for the fierce determination that she has had in her adventure of weight loss. She looks so good today after all her effort and I hope she is able to keep it. I look to her story knowing that I will attain my ideal weight putting all that efforts.

I know I am loved especially by my husband no matter my weight is but I want to look good and to be healthy, too. That is why even if it seems like I am stuck in this certain weight, I just have to keep prodding on. In the same way that I am also encouraging my husband to shed off some weight. I know that with all his stresses and long hours at work, it is hard to get going with his exercises. I am hoping that this summer we can all exercise together in our elliptical machine at home and walks in the evening, too. We will work out as a family to be fit and healthy. Thanks to my sister-in-law for the inspiration. We know that with dedication and efforts, we can reach our goals, too. Have a good one all!

getting ready for my naturalization test

Yeah, I will have my Naturalization Interview/Exam with the Immigration for my application for US Citizenship for next week; and I haven't studied yet. Good grief! I really need to get on with it soonest as what my hubby has been egging me to do. I have started leafing through the handbook USCIS gave me during my fingerprinting about two days ago and that was it. "Cindy, you really have to get on with it okay?" That's what I have been telling myself every single day but I am always waylaid by other things. Geez!

Get on with it, girl! Yeah, I definitely will; and I hope and pray that I can pass this hurdle so I can move on to the next step. What is that next step going to be? Hmmm, I will tell you when I am through my naturalization test. For now, I really have to study. Have a good one all!

on my friend's weight loss regimen

I am all in for working out hard to lose weight. Like in my case, I exercise in my elliptical machine for 5 hours a week to lose weight. So far, I shed off 10 lbs for three months. Then I stopped for two months and now I am back to working out again. I know that it's kind of slow for me but I don't mind. It seems like the more I exercise, the healthier I become. Not only physically speaking but mentally and emotionally as well.

However, when I heard from a friend who lost 5 lbs in just a week, these questions immediately popped up in my mind:

1. What did she do?
2. Was she in a very effective and healthy quick weight loss?
3. Where can we get it?

Hahaha, my working out hard to lose weight just flew out of my mind to the drain. I still have to talk to this friend and inquire her of her weight loss regimen. I hope to chat with her one of these days and hopefully it will also work out best for me. What do you think?

happy girls here at home

I have two screaming girls playing here at home today. They are my daughter and my niece. I am watching my niece today for my sister-in-law has a surgery this afternoon. I hope and pray that everything goes well with the surgery. They are planning to get the little girl by 7:00 pm tonight.

I am always glad to have my niece here at our house for Kate will have a playmate. They are just fun to watch - always shrieking with laughter and running around the house. I really don't care if the house will be in a big mess with all the toys everywhere; I am just happy seeing them playing happy. Right now, they are sitting together in the couch playing with dolls and watching HGTV. What? HGTV? Yes, we are watching HGTV. Hey, it's never early to train them how to make homes beautiful, right? a fruitful 2010 for me!

This year 2010 will sure be a fruitful one for me. I am going to have my exam/interview at the Immigration by next week for my application for US citizenship. By God's grace, the plan is we are going to petition my mother to come here in the US thereafter. I am also looking forward to taking my driving permit (again!) so I can go to a driving school. I truly hope to have a driver's license this year especially that my little girl will be in school this year.

Hubby and I have agreed that since our little girl will be in school soon, I can also go back to work even if it's only on a part time basis. Yeppers! It has been so long since I was a full time employee. I am truly looking forward for this and I really hope I can still find my way in a working environment. I am also working my way to attaining my ideal weight this year. With regular exercise (and perhaps with the best weight loss pills in the market today), I know I can make it.

It seems like I am stuck at 125 lbs right now. As you know that I have been exercising in my elliptical machine and I still have a long way to go to my goal which is 115 lbs. Geez, I really need to check www.quicktrimreviews.com for the much needed information so I can reach my goal weight.

Well, I am also part to blame because I still eat lots even I am working out. I just can't help to eat more than what I need especially with all the special occasion we celebrated - from holidays to our wedding anniversary, then my birthday and here comes Valentines Day this weekend. I just chatted with my brother who is now in Cebu, Philippines. He is applying for a job overseas and he said that they are just waiting for the Job Order. He just told me that their representative is now in Guam for the signing of the job order. So, hopefully the wait is not that long no more.

I am really praying that he will get this job for himself. More than anything else, he truly deserves this opportunity. Of course, the whole family will also be benefited with this opportunity because I know how helpful my brother is. However, by God's grace and he can get this job, it will surely make him the happiest. And for a good person that he is, he deserves only the best. Have a good one all!

hubby's joint problems

My husband has really been having problems with his joints - wrist, elbow and shoulders lately. I am not really surprise since he has really been a hard worker as an automotive technician for more than twenty years. The cold weather is just making the problem worse. That is why I am really trying to give him massages every night for a joint pain relief. Well, I am hoping that my massages really help him because I truly feel so bad for him. I am also encouraging him to take some supplements for joints and hopefully this will also alleviate the pain. If only he could just easily change jobs. How I wish!

SOPHIA HENRIDEE - a beautiful name for a beautiful baby! Isn't she gorgeous? She is just 5 days old and look at her now! She is so adorable. I wish I could hold and kiss her. She is my cousin's first baby. My cousin, Hazel and her husband Dax, who lives in Illinois are truly proud of their baby girl. Baby Sophie weighs 6.12 lbs when she was born February 6, 2010. Congratulations guys! I can really say that Hazel and Dax did a great job? Don't you think so?

I was talking to my girlfriend on the phone this morning for hours. Yes, for two hours! Imagine that! We usually talk once a week and when we chat that's how usually long it's going to be. We really don't have any pressing subject to talk but we just want to blab about anything. How was our weekend, what's new with our life, the most effective diet pill based on the best diet pill reviews we've heard, the latest trends on purses, shoes, etc. Oh you know, how it is with girl's talk!

Would you believe that we come from the same town in the Philippines. That when we talk of some persons from back home, we know who it is. Isn't that funny? That is why I am the first person to be sad upon hearing that they are going to move to Europe soon. Although I am happy for them since this is truly a great opportunity for them as a family, but I can't help to feel sad. Well, I really wish them well in their new endeavor. I am sure she will still call me regularly when they are in Germany already; and with their free phone service from her husband's work, we can still blab for hours. You can bet on that!

another lazy Thursday

Another day has long gone and I felt so incomplete. It's probably because I didn't accomplish my goals for today. Hahaha, ask me what my goals are! Actually, I have been planning to do some house chores. I know, I know it is not grand but being at stay-at-home wife and mom, that's how my day goes. I have been neglecting my laundry for a week now. Well I already started on it the other day, but I still have a lot of folding to do. Geez! I really wish there is a folding machine invented in this world, LOL. Good Lord!

Well at the least, me and my girl are having a lot progress with her schooling here at home today. We started on a new book and she's really liking it. I was able to do my 75-minute exercise today on my elliptical machine. Yeehaw! I was truly happy with that especially that I am not sure if I can exercise tomorrow for I will be taking care of my niece tomorrow. If I can't do it tomorrow, I am really hoping that I can exercise on Saturday so I can reach my goal of 5 hours of exercise per week. Yay, I am really on the roll! But still, my neglected chores. Oh well! As my friend says, I can still do it tomorrow, right? So we will see how tomorrow goes. Have a good one all!

my grown up nephew

The goofy picture above is of my nephew, Cedric. I just can't believe how much he has grown the past two years. The last time I saw him was year 2008 during my vacation in the Philippines that year. Looking at his picture right now makes me feel like I am really getting old. Geez! He is actually 12 years old now and he is almost as tall as his father (my brother) who is about 5'7". I was really taken aback looking at this picture which is by the way Cedric's profile image on his facebook.

He is almost a teenager and like all typical teens, he is also having some problems with acne now and then. He requested me in one of our phone conversations to buy him acne pills, and I was like: "Are you serious?" He said that he just doesn't want to deal with this pesky facial problems. I told him not to worry about it since that's part of growing up unless it's going to be worse. But for now, I just told him just leave them be. Wow, my nephew has really grown up! Where did time go?

My little girl and I had fun tonight with our Wii Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 3. Hubby bought me this fun game as one of his birthday gifts for me. This is actually our second time playing this game and it is fun and so entertaining; aside from the fact this is truly a good sort of exercise. It will really get you moving on your feet with new modes, new tracks and Wii Balance Board Support. Players of all ages can really dance to more than 50 dance hits like that of Rihanna, Cold Play, Diana Ross, etc.

Me and my little girl find the moves and steps a bit difficult but I know that with constant playing, we can perfect the dances. Hahaha, it is just so funny with all our missteps and the monitor will immediately say: FAILED. Sheesh!!! Well, we will just have to play this game regularly so we can pass this dance game. But in all honesty, it is real FUN!

need vitamins for hair

Is there anybody here who knows about vitamins for hair? I am thinking that I really need them for I am shedding hundreds of hair everyday. In fact, hubby is kinda complaining that I always plug up the shower. Ewwww! Yeah, he always has to clean and collect thousands of my fallen hair from the drain. Good grief! I know it's gross that is why I am really considering chopping off my hair really short. The problem is hubby won't allow it, you see. He said, he would rather just keep our shower clean than make my hair short. But I really have to do something to prevent the shedding before I go bald. I'd better do research about this problem and where is the best place to do that? Of course, here in the net! So, off I go to do my research about hair care. Have a good one all!

shoe shopping saturday

Shoe shopping is the agenda for today. That is, for me! So, we went to DSW since I have been wishing to get me a pair of black pumps. When we got there, I immediately headed to the said store while hubby and my little girl went straight to Best Buy which is just beside DSW. I just can't get enough of this shoe store. I could browse and go on and on for hours - checking and trying different shoes in different styles and colors. And to think that I was in the same store last weekend and got me two pairs of sandals. Shhhhh, I know it was so wicked of me.

When I found the perfect pumps for me, I can't help but check out other shoes. It was truly a big achievement for me to come out of that store with one pair only, hehehe. However when I seen hubby on his way in to DSW, I persuaded him to check out the store's work shoes for him. I told him that he can no longer put it (buying work shoes) on hold for he really needs a new pair since what he has now are all worn out and has a funny shape into them. So, I was happy that he finally got himself new ones; and on a good deal, too. How cool is that!

But of course, the little girl won't be left out so we went to Sketcher's and got her a pair of shoes with lights on them. She was so funny because as soon as she tried them on and saw the blinking lights, she didn't let go of them. Too funny. It's a good thing, too that Sketcher's had a sale going on. I had my eye on a pair of gray boots for me but unfortunately they don't have my size. What a bummer! But all in all, we were so happy with our purchases. Whoaaahhhh, I hope that will be it for shoes for a longer time. You think?

I got a call from my friend yesterday telling me that she had finally unlocked phone - the phone that she is going to use on her vacation in the Philippines. Oh wow, she is definitely ready for her grand vacation, as I told her! I am truly happy for her that finally she is able to have this vacation since this is her first time to visit our native land after 6 years. Imagine that! And what a vacation plan she's going to have! She said that she will also visit two of the most wonderful beaches in the Philippines - Panglao Island, Bohol and Boracay. Wow, I can't help but feel jealous. Seriously, I am so happy for her. She really worked hard for this thing and I hope and pray that she will have a wonderful time. Godspeed, Joy!

Cheers to LIFE at 38! As you can see, I had Margarita for a drink and this time, I love it! It is just the perfect blend for me. I had Margarita during our anniversary dinner in another restaurant and I don't like the taste of it. But Maggiano's Margarita is yummy, very fruity and less alcohol.

All in all, I was a happy birthday girl on my special day. And I can't help but to thank the Lord for another year-round of love and blessings; and for everything.

I really feel sad because my only friend here in San Antonio is going to move to Europe soon. Her husband has a very good job opportunity there so off they'll go in a few weeks. Wow, it is really going to be a long move. Imagine getting a house, vehicles and setting up everything there like mortgages, homeowner's insurance, not to mention auto insurance and all. Sheesh, that's a lot of work.

Of course, no need to worry since there are a lot of companies like EquiLeads who will be happy to assist and give business leads to anybody regarding this kind of endeavor. It is like making the relocation easier and not so much stresses. I am truly going to miss my friend. I really like her because she also comes from the same town as I am. Amazing, right? Yay, got a new desktop computer!

We went to Best Buy yesterday and wow, there was a huge crowd there! It turned out that they have sale going on on most of their items. Hubby and I were like: "Oh my!" So, we checked out desk top computers for we really need a new one in our bedroom. The Gateway desktop that we have is really old and getting worst by the day. It was really a good working desktop, imagine it worked for us for eight years! Amazing, right?

That yesterday at Best Buy, we were checking out Gateway desktop computers. We found one which is best for hubby's gaming and schooling in the net on a very good deal. He said that its huge memory is really ideal for his games and online school. The CPU costs more than $600.00 and the 23' monitor is $229.99. To make the story short, we ended up buying the said Gateway desktop computer yesterday and paid close to $1,000 which includes a recovery disk. Whooaaahhh! Well, my hubby truly needs this new desktop; and he has been saving for this. I just hope that this new computer will be also as good as the one that we had. Have a good one all!

I just can't wait to have our own house here in San Antonio. As you know that we are just renting here since our house in Colorado hasn't been sold yet. You just don't know how I have been praying for that house to be sold, so we can buy our own home here in Texas. Of course, there are a lot of things to consider when buying a house like insurance. That's why it is a must that you have to evaluate all home insurance quotes out in the market today, so you can get one which will suit best on your home needs.

It's a very hectic Friday for us today especially for me. We are planning to have barbecue party with my sister-in-law and her family, and my friend, Arlyn and her family tomorrow. I have been so occupied with of course, food preparation not to mention tidying the house. Well, not that it's not tidy (hehehe), but just making sure that everything will be perfect tomorrow. It's only a small gathering so it's all going to be okay.

After our dinner at Zorro's Buffet, we dropped by the Wally World to get some of the stuffs that we need for tomorrow. So, I should say that we are ready for tomorrow. I am so happy with relief right now upon knowing that my niece who was admitted in the hospital last week is really feeling well now. In fact, she is home right now recuperating. I am still unsure though if she's already back to school. It is really frustrating and scary when one family member is sick. How much more if one in the family has mesothelioma? Good grief! We found an eating place for our lunch today and it is called Souper Salad. It is right along 410 here in San Antonio and I find it best especially if you just want light food. It's commendable to those who are watching their diets. Of course, they have a selection of soups and a variety of salad with all the different kind of dressings and all. We truly like it and I know that we would frequent this place from now on especially that my little girl also loves it. I just can't wait to go back there.

Hmmm, smells good here in the house. I mopped all our floors this afternoon with Pinesol mixture. It just smells so clean. Whew! I did accomplish a lot today. Cleaning every room while doing the laundry, can you bet that? Hehehe, what a Saturday! It's hubby's Saturday to work so me and my little girl did some cleaning. I am proud of her since she keeps her playroom clean for how many days now. Today, she wiped her tables and her kitchen set. Hmmm, can't be too early to train her, right?

What an amazing time we live in today, when you can educate yourself on the computer at home. It really works well for someone who has a family and a full time job, when it’s time to learn a new skill. I’ve always been very proud of my husband because of his skills in what he does for a living; and his ability to teach others at the same time.

However, I have also witnessed how taxing his job as an auto technician on him. That is why he has been checking online degree here in the net for months now. I am kinda ticked off that my bank account is on the red by $8.00. Geez! How could I let this happen? This means a penalty charge of about $30.00. Good grief! Oh well! It happened already so there's nothing I can do but face the consequence of my mess up. What makes it worse is that today is Friday and this can't be corrected until next week. I just hope the bank won't charge me on a per day basis. What a mess, indeed!

Have you ever followed the TV show, Heroes? It is an American science fiction television drama series created by Tim Kring aired on NBC. I just started watching it on Netflix the other week and it got me hook, line and sinker. I am onto Season 3 right now. Gee, I just so love it! This series tells stories of ordinary people who discover their superhuman abilities, and how these abilities take effect in the character's lives.

Hubby was the one who recommended it to me to watch this show for he said that I will like it. He is right, I definitely love it! My, oh my, my plate is truly full right now. Full with a lot of shows that I am following, not to mention the Filipino soaps. And facebook, and novels, and .... Whew! What a hectic life I have, huh!

As you know that I have been trying to lose weight for the past months. So far, I have lost 10 lbs for working out in the elliptical machine for 3 months. It's not that much but I am so happy with my accomplishment. Then, came the holidays and I stopped my exercise. Sheesh! Though I didn't gain weight since I am really watching out what I eat, I still need to lose another 10 lbs. That's my goal and I know I am going to attain it. I just need a very effective and a reliable fat burner to be fit and healthy. Or maybe, I will have to go back to my good old elliptical machine. What do you think, guys?

teenager's malady

I can't believe that my nephew is almost 13 years old. I talked to him on the phone the other day and boy, his voice has changed, too! He is getting tall as his father (my brother) and he said that he is getting pesky pimples now and then, too. Hahaha, teenager's number one problem - acne! Good thing, severe acne treatments are everywhere these days. Of course, you just have to be careful with those ineffective and fake ones. I told my nephew that it's just normal to have pimples now and then that he is already a teenager. Oh boy, I am really getting old! Hahaha!

Yes, we found it! After six months here in San Antonio, we found our best Chinese buffet restaurant in the city. We tried quite a few of Chinese buffets and we didn't like any of them, until last Sunday. Hubby brought me to China Harbor located on Highway 281, based on the recommendation of his workmates. I am so glad to have finally find one here in San Antonio. I have been craving for Chinese food and what a joy it is to find one. They have tons of mouth watering selections and guys, you should try their stir fry veggies. It is soooo good! What a great find! Great eats, too!

I am so glad that my niece who has been sick and in the hospital since last week is feeling better now. I just got a message from my mother that my niece will hopefully be home tomorrow. Thanks God for that. I have been sick with worry the past few days because of this. Now I can get on with my chores in peace and research more on colon cleanser. One cousin is requesting me to do this since she is thinking of doing this? And I was like: "What for?" Well, we will see what relevant information I can find about it. One of the stores that hubby and I love is Borders. We just adore this bookstore. We were there last Sunday and we can't help but grab some great reads. Hubby got himself a book about computers and I got two novels. I have been engrossed in one of the two the past two days and I just can't put it down. Actually, the one I am reading now is a romantic trilogy, Lovers and Dreamers authored by Nora Roberts.

I got this 3-in-1 book for $17 and I am so happy with my purchase, a very good deal I should say. Three interesting and very entertaining romantic dramas. I really like Nora Roberts' creations. I also got The Help by Kathryn Stockett on hardback. I have heard great reviews of this book in the net and it was on sale that I just can't help but grab a copy. I am expecting it will be more entertaining than the one I am reading now.

So happy that I am back to reading novels now. It has been years that I stopped when I got hooked with the internet. But now I am at it and tickled pink with my growing collection of books. Have a good one all!

sick with worry

I have been so stressed out lately. I have a niece who has really been sick and I just can't help but worry for her. I learned that she was brought to the hospital since last week. This really caused my sleepless nights for three nights in a row now. Thus, causing me a lot of pimples on my face which my acne face wash is dealing with them effectively. Gee, I don't want to add another worry, okay?

What makes it more stressful is the fact that my family is on the other part of the world. I just wish they would update me right away as to what's going on. The last time I heard of them was yesterday when I called them on the phone. I truly hope and pray that my niece is well now. Get well soon, Marcy!

on Bourbon St. Seafood Kitchen

Hubby treat me to a special dinner today at Bourbon St. Seafood Kitchen. One of his workmates recommended the place for its delicious seafood cuisine. Indeed, our dinner was so yummy. We had Seafood Fondue for starter; I had Seafood Jambalaya, hubby had Shrimp Brochette and bug had Cheeseburger and Fries. With the appetizer, I was all stuffed already that I wasn't able to eat my main course. Gee, I ate lots again!

All in all, the experience was good. The service was great. It is a bit pricey but the yummy food is worth it. Hopefully, we can go back there in the near future so I can try the other menus. I just have to see to it that I will really be hungry so I can eat all my food.

encouraging our little girl to be a star?

Our little girl might be somewhat of an artist. She is always banging on her musical instruments especially her piano. She really likes the new song by Jay Z and Alicia Keys', Empire State of New York. Always playing her piano to this song, we wonder when it will be time to get her piano lessons.

Music is in my husband’s family and the singing is in mine. My husband says that all his brothers and sisters took piano lessons and they were very good at it. With my family, there is the singing and more singing which is kind of funny because that is what our daughter does all the time. Sometimes it is hard to get her to settle down during the important times because all she wants to do is sing and play her piano.

We will just have to try lessons and see if she likes it. Who knows what she will do but we do know she is very excited to try new things all the time. Soon we will have to get on with her lessons and who knows, we might have a little star on our hands. No matter what, we know we love her no matter what and would just always want her to do what she enjoys the most.

ultimate skillet for dinner tonight

It's one of those days that I am not up to cooking dinner right now. I am at my wits end as to what to make. Staring at the freezer and refrigerator for the nth time didn't help either. I called hubby as to suggestion and he just said, Pizza. Geez, I don't feel like eating Pizza for dinner.

Until I seen the potatoes here in the counter! I have been craving for the ultimate skillet of Village Inn for months now. There is none of that eating place here in San Antonio. So, off I made dinner. Hubby was like: "Oh yeah, that sounds really, really good!" when I called him back on the phone. Do you think it's weird to have breakfast stuffs for dinner? Nah, we love it! But of course, not all the time. So here's what I made for our dinner tonight:

Fried potatoes, bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs with gravy - YUM! And obviously, my little princess loves it, too! Have a good one all!

off to Austin we went

We went to Austin today. It is about an hour and a half drive away from us but we don't mind since that's one of the things we love doing. We planned on going to the Asian store there since it is bigger and there are a lot more choices on that store compared to the ones here in San Antonio. On our way there, we already noticed how heavy the traffic was. There were some road repairs (which I am sure these constructions have high strength fasteners for highway) between here and there. You will also noticed bunches of humongous equipment and all the hex cap screws and bolts that comes with it on the highway.

I was like: "My oh my! How long will we be sitting in this messy traffic?" Good thing, hubby, our ever reliable driver is so patient to deal with it. Well, I know that he is weary from all the driving we did today that he is now sleeping soundly in our bedroom. Poor baby! Did we make it to the Asian Store today? NOPE! The address that hubby has was not right. Geez, all the driving we did and we weren't able to go to the big Asian store. Well, there is always a next time right?

I am tickled pink with my hubby's message for me on our fifth wedding anniversary. I am kinda shy to post his message but oh well! I am just a happy and proud wifey; and so thankful, too. So here it goes:

"I’m not sure where the time has gone and wow, we have been married 5 years now. Having met on Christmas day, this arrangement God has brought to both our lives truly takes on a special meaning. The greatest gift God has given us was born on Christmas day in the coming of His Son; and the greatest gift I’ve had in this life on earth was brought to me as my beautiful wife. Of course from all that, we have the most beautiful child as well.

My wife will just say “himos” when I tell her how beautiful she is, but in all actuality she is the most beautiful woman in the world to me in more ways than just one. (Himos meaning many things) She puts up with my long hours at work, my dirty hands and among many other bad habits husbands can have. She through it all, loves me unconditionally as I do her always. Her job is equally hard if not harder. You know, for her to be at home taking care of the many challenges that have faced us with our little girl, while having to give up her job and the life she knew in the place where she was from.

Here, she has to do it all alone with me while being used to all the support a big family has to offer. So when I say she is special, it means that I’m the luckiest husband to be blessed with. Baby, always remember how much I do love you and never forget it is forever and eternity. installing water softeners

My husband and I are really concerned about our little girl's rashes on her face. She has this little red specks in her face which according to her are very itchy. We are wondering if this is because of the water here in San Antonio. Hmmm, I should have listen to hubby about installing water softeners in our water system here in the house. We heard that the water here in San Antonio is hard with lots of minerals. I am really having second thoughts about softeners since we don't have the budget yet. However, if this would eliminate skin rashes then, we just have to do what needs to be done, right?

for our dinner. It is just a simple dinner celebration but I enjoyed it so much. The atmosphere is so laid back and the food is also great. Our dinner is actually a first where we had all the courses from the appetizer to dessert even if we were too full in the middle of the whole thing. Usually, we always skip dessert but tonight is different. And it was all sooo good. I also had my first taste of Maverick Margarita per the waitress' recommendation but sorry to say that I don't like it. Now I know...

All in all, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing dinner celebration for just the two of us. Thank you, hubby for the dinner and just for being you; and thanks also to my sister-in-law for taking care of our little bug for tonight. We owe you lots. Have a good one all!

New Year celebration

We celebrated New Year's Day at my sister-in-law's property. We let the kids cruise the whole property with their high powered toy cars. Actually, said property is just a piece of land. I am not sure how many acres is it but it is quite big. They are planning to put their house on it soon. For now, her (my sister-in-law) father-in-law's RV, which is in need of rv repair has been setting in that property.

It was a truly relaxing New Year's day celebration. What made it more perfect was the weather which was sunny. The kids, my daughter and her two cousins had a ball riding their cars, running around the place and riding the tractor. We were supposed to have barbecue party there but we settled for burgers at the last minute. All in all, it turned out so great for the whole family.

The pictures above were taken at The Shops at La Canterra when we went there this afternoon. It is a fancy outside mall with a lot of water features in the middle. I really like going to this mall because it has a wide selection of my favorite shops like Macy's, Victoria Secret, Burberry, Aldo, Coach, Bebe, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillards and so on and so forth. Gee, as in lots of shops to browse.

I love how this mall is all laid out. It feels like you are in the park. As you can see, my little girl loves the water features in this mall. I could definitely go on and on, hopping from one shop to another at this mall. Good thing that this mall is just about 8 minute drive from us, that we can go whenever we want even just to browse only. It sure is fun and enjoyable!
